Silly Little Monsters is now available through Amazon as an e-book for the Kindle, and as a paperback. It is also available through Barnes & Noble as an e-book for the Nook.

The paperback will be available through Barnes & Noble soon.

Unfortunately, I find it hard to feel excited about this personal milestone in the midst of everything else going on in the world, from the attacks on women’s rights at home and abroad, continued abuse of refugees and their children, white and/or male supremacist violence, and a man who gets a pass on promoting violence and conspiracy theories from the media any time he manages to semi-maintain his composure, and just…everything.

This silly little monster will never hold her tongue. What can I say?

The title Silly Little Monsters was inspired by a lyric in the song “Numb” by Meg Myers. When my stories went live on Kindle and Nook, her latest single “I Hope You Cry” (a beautiful duet with morgxn) went live in YouTube. Just a coincidence, but it tickled me. I made a playlist of some of the music I listened to while writing and editing. It’s perfect for Halloween, too.

I more than understand if getting a new book is not at the top of anyone’s list of priorities right now, but it’s there for anyone who needs or wants it. You can even submit a request to your local library to have it added to the system once it’s available through Barnes & Noble. Public libraries are a wonderful place. They were magic for me growing up. I’ve dreamed of becoming a contributor to that magic ever since.

I learned a lot about myself and began to find my voice as a writer through this project. I’ve also learned it’s a process, and not an event. I feel less a sense of completion, and more a sense that my work has only just begun, but it’s work I enjoy doing. I have a few things I’m excited to dive into next month, even as it feels like the world is crumbling around us.

Some people are hoping for a positive change in November that will give them a chance to rest. I hope they don’t plan on resting for long. That work won’t be done, either. It’s only just beginning.

I’m a strange sort of salesperson, I know. I don’t have a brand.

Can not having a brand be a brand?
